“Wooden Maria” by Teri Chung
“Wooden Maria is an Italian version of the fairytale “All-Fur” or “Donkey Skin.” The princess of the story gets three gorgeous dresses (usually of sun, moon, and stars) and one hideous dress/coat which she hides her true identity in. In Wooden Maria, the three dresses are of the flowered meadow, the ocean, and the universe and I thought it would be fun to illustrate them.”
